About Tim Myers

California singer/songwriter, producer, and label head Tim Myers is a founding member of OneRepublic who pursued a solo career after that band's debut. Born in Orange, he played piano as a child, later learning guitar and bass in his teens. He moved to Los Angeles in 2002, playing in the band Limousine before a fortuitous meeting with Ryan Tedder and Zach Filkins would lead to his mainstream breakthrough. The trio went on to form OneRepublic and, with Myers' songwriting and guitar/bass contributions, released their debut, Dreaming Out Loud, in 2007. Myers co-wrote a quartet of songs for the album, including "Stop and Stare," the second Top 20 hit for the band and the follow-up to "Apologize." At this early point in the band's history, Myers took leave and went solo (his final work with OneRepublic would be found on a pair of bonus tracks on their 2009 sophomore release, Waking Up). Myers' debut solo EP arrived soon after his departure from OneRepublic. The antiwar Revolution featured the songs "World War" and "A Revolution Song," a collaboration with Colbie Caillat. He followed up during the next year with the Good Life EP. In 2009, while recording his debut full-length, Myers founded Palladium Records, which would be the home to his subsequent releases. His first LP, a rousing set of pop-inflected indie rock tunes, arrived in 2012. Technicolor included the songs "Under Control," "Yes!," and "Life's a Party." His sophomore effort, The Year, was released in 2015. Each of the cinematic album's 12 tracks corresponded to a specific month in the artist's life, creating a linear story that resembled a blend of the Dear Hunter and Of Monsters and Men. Myers released his third album, Portraits, in 2017. Featuring production by Dave Audé on the dance-centric "Lover My Love," Portraits also included guests like Phillip Phillips ("Mother") and James Arthur ("Tana: Sorry Don't Live Here"). ~ Neil Z.
