Rich shares his paper in the Journal of Military Medicine titled "Lessons Learned During Prolonged Care of Combat Casualties by a Minimally Manned Surgical Team". He explains what an FRSD (Forward Resuscitative Surgical Detachment) is, and how they are prepared to care for critically injured patients. Rich shares two cases from his deployment in Afghanistan, and how his team had to extend care beyond the expected evacuation time frame.
