Black Wall Streets were thriving African American business communities in the early 20th century. Some examples include: Greenwood District, Tulsa, Oklahoma: A neighborhood with nearly 35 blocks of Black-owned businesses, including the Williams Dreamland Theatre. In 1921, a white mob destroyed much of Greenwood in the Tulsa Race Massacre. Bronzeville, Chicago, Illinois: A prosperous African American community. Hayti, Durham, North Carolina: A prosperous African American community. Sweet Auburn, Atlanta, Georgia: A prosperous African American community. West Ninth Street, Little Rock, Arkansas: A prosperous African American community. Farish Street, Jackson, Mississippi: A prosperous African American community Jackson Ward, Richmond, Virginia: A thriving African American business community established in 1871 Therefore it’s been done previously. So it can be done. Also Greenwood District, Tulsa, Oklahoma, was rebuild after it was destroyed. Why not start with a block or two of properties. Let’s keep it positive and put that into the Universe.
