The Pierces

Oddball and eccentric, experimental and sometimes demented, yet rooted in pure pop, the Pierce sisters - Catherine and Allison of Birmingham, Alabama - began creating their gothically alternative folk rock in the late 1990s. Wisps of Weill, Brel, the Beatles, the Cure, Leonard Cohen, and many others, mingle in the Pierces exciting creations. While major label madness derailed them to a degree, they released albums regularly throughout the '00s, and by the end of the decade, the internet had helped make them a cult phenomenon.
