Memphis May Fire grew into one of metalcore's leading lights throughout the '10s by keeping the genre hurtling into the future. In addition to their drilling riffs and howled vocal acrobatics, the Texas group bolstered their sound with spacious sonic arrangements (the post-rock-inflected "Miles Away") and a taste for atmospheric programming (the battering electronics of "Prove Me Right"). Vocalist Matty Mullins is the perfect foil for their expansive sound: One minute, he's unleashing gruff vocal barks ("Vices"), and the next, he's wielding an inquisitive, vulnerable croon ("Wanting More").
