#219: You Now Have Redundancy Protection Until Your Baby is 18 Months Old Because Your New Pregancy & Maternity Leave Employment Rights Started On 6th April 2024. Here’s What You Need to Know!

    Hi there
In this week’s episode we look at your new pregnancy and maternity leave protection against redundancy rights which you now have, which came online on 6th April 2024. We look at how these new rights work for you and how the rights sit alongside existing pregnancy and maternity rights which you already have.
The more you are able to acquaint yourself with your employment rights in this area, the more your rights will act as an early warning system, which you can use to spot bad treatment or illegal treatment that you may be suffering at work.  If you need help to formulate your complaint you can download a copy of our ‘Complaints Checklist’ here.
If you need help with pregnancy or maternity-related queries or to organise your thoughts into a complaint… you can download our Employment Rights Online checklist of 15 smart actions that you can use to help you challenge unfair and illegal treatment at work. You’ll find the link to that download in the show notes for this episode.  You can also find all our support links at the bottom of the show notes for this episode; and, if you would like to book a consultation with us to look at bullying or abuse which you may be suffering at work or any other employment rights concern you may have, you can email us at employmentrightsonline@gmail.com. Alternatively, you can go directly to our consultations bookings page using the Consultations link, which is also in the show notes.  Finally, remember you can help us by sharing our podcast information with your family, friends and colleagues and by leaving us a review on iTunes or a rating on Spotify if you enjoy our podcasts.

#217: It’s Past the 1st April 2024. That Means Wages for the Lowest Paid Workers In the UK Must Go Up. Here Are Your New National Minimum Wage Levels!

    Hi There
This week is national living wage and national minimum wage week! So, in this weeks podcast episode, we take you through all the new rates for various age groups ranging from apprentices up to the age of 21 and over. We also go through steps you can take, if you find out that your employer has not paid you the correct rate in the past, or is refusing to pay the correct rate from 01/04/2024.
Our takeaways for this week are …  that no matter your employment status, if you are paid at National Living Wage or National Minimum Wage levels, check your pay rates for last year and from 1st April 2024.  If you find you pay is not correct, take your evidence to your employer and ask to be paid at the right level.
If you need help with organising your thoughts or evidence into a complaint… you can download our Employment Rights Online checklist of 15 smart actions that you can use to help you challenge unfair and illegal treatment at work. You’ll find the link to that download in the show notes for this episode.  If you need help with national minimum wage issues you can find all our support links at the bottom of the show notes for this episode; and, if you would like to book a consultation with us to look at bullying or abuse which you may be suffering at work or any other employment rights concern you may have, you can email us at employmentrightsonline@gmail.com. #216: Think Your Relationship Doesn’t Have Anything To Do With Why You’re Suffering Bad Treatment At Work? Here’s What You May Have Missed!

    Hi there...

In this week’s podcast episode, we take a look at marriage and civil partnership discrimination at work.  If you think your relationship does not have anything to do with why you might not get a particular job or, why you may be suffering bad treatment at work, think again!   And, if you think there isn’t such a thing as marriage discrimination, we explore this issue, in this week’s podcast.
If you need help with marriage or civil partnership concerns or with any other employment rights matter you may have - you can find all our support links at the bottom of the show notes for this episode; and, if you would like to book a consultation with us to look at bullying or abuse which you may be suffering at work or any other employment rights concern you may have, you can email us at employmentrightsonline@gmail.com. #215: If You Are Going Through Gender Reassignment And You Are Treated Unfairly At Work,You May Be Suffering Discrimination. Here’s What You Need to Know!

    Hi there
This week we focus on the often overlooked area of gender reassignment discrimination and employment rights.
Gender reassignment is one of the 9 protected characteristics under the Equality Act.  In the UK, the Equality Act 2010 protects you from discrimination based on gender reassignment and this ensures that everyone going through gender reassignment has the right to be treated fairly at work. So in this week’s podcast episode, we will focus on what that workplace discrimination may look like - so you can spot it and address it.
If you need help with gender reassignment concerns or with any other employment rights matter you may have - you can find all our support links at the bottom of the show notes for this episode; and, if you would like to book a consultation with us to look at bullying or abuse which you may be suffering at work or any other employment rights concern you may have, you can email us at employmentrightsonline@gmail.com.

#214: Why Anxiety, Depression and Bi Polar Disorder Are Disabilities at Work Which Are Protected By Your Employment Rights!

#214: Why Anxiety, Depression and Bi Polar Disorder Are Disabilities at Work Which Are Protected By Your Employment Rights!

    Hi there
This week we look at the often hidden issue of disability discrimination in the workplace, with a particular look at mental health concerns and reasonable adjustments. We also look at the five complaint areas you can use to organise your experiences of discrimination at work.
Our takeaways for this week’s episode are, that understanding your rights and being able to recognize disability discrimination is crucial for you if you have a disability. Once you recognise how disability discrimination may be practiced in your workplace and you then understand how to name it and organise your thoughts into a complaint, you will then be able to make decisions about how you wish to tackle it to make it stop! Remember, you're not alone, and support is available to help you navigate these challenges.
If you need help with disability discrimination concerns or with any other employment rights matter you may have - you can find all our support links at the bottom of the show notes for this episode; and, if you would like to book a consultation with us to look at bullying or abuse which you may be suffering at work or any other employment rights concern you may have, you can email us at employmentrightsonline@gmail.com. Top advice from experienced and caring professional

I came across this podcast very recently as I’m going through a hard time at work having raised a grievance for discrimination. It’s a shame I didn’t find it sooner for my case! I already spent a lot of money on poor and contradictory advice. The advice given here is clear, to the point and one can tell that Dr Asher Sefanit-Wudasee has your back! I already had a consultation with her via her website and she’s so knowledgeable and caring I can’t recommend her enough. Plus, it’s affordable, which shows she’s willing to help and support employees fight for their rights. I’m looking forward to more episodes!

Invaluable!!!

I couldn’t recommend this podcast enough. The only downside is that I didn’t find it sooner! Most podcasts are aimed for an employer whereas the focus here is the employee. The wealth of information is vast and there is a Facebook page too that gives links to availing of their services. I don’t know how I’ve managed without it and am so glad to have discovered it!

What's the news ,

Clear concise advice and information

This cast is like nothing I have ever heard before concerning employment rights.
The weekly advice and information is like a trusted and informed friend at your side guiding and directing me and helping me navigate all the challenges of the workplace and my employment rights I have to help me overcome issues.
Fantastic!
Thank you
