Back to Home is the third book in Matson’s Cameron Falls series, and by far, my favorite so far. Cash Helms left this small town eight years ago to join the military because he was known as the troublemaker. Now, he’s back and doing his best to right all of his wrongs. The biggest, making amends for burning down old man Morgan’s barn, even though he wasn’t the one that started that fire. Only, Mr. Morgan passed away, leaving his property to his granddaughter, Aubrey. The same spitfire blonde that he literally ran into...twice.
There’s no denying the chemistry Cash and Aubrey have, although she tries her hardest to ignore it. She wants so badly to not believe him about the barn, but he finally wears her down and she comes to realize he was telling the truth. When she finally gives in, look out! Because these two will set your kindle on fire.
I absolutely loved everything about this story. It’s everything you could want in a small town romance and more. Cash is a war hero. He’s beautiful, loyal, and loves with his whole heart. Aubrey is undeniably strong, even though she believes she’s undeniably shattered. I loved revisiting the rest of the Helms family as well. I mean, Hadley just knows how to steal a scene or two lol. And someone, in my opinion, needs to buy that girl a goat LOL. We have one more book to go in the series, and I cannot wait for Willow’s book. Back to Home is definitely one of my top reads of the year.
