Publisher Description

Cinderella goes to the con in this charming young adult romance that puts a fandom twist on the classic fairy tale—from a New York Times bestselling author!

“With geekily adorable characters, a show that’s part Star Trek and part Firefly, a cosplay contest, and a food truck fairy godmother, this is a love letter to fandom.” —Booklist

Geek girl Elle Wittimer lives and breathes Starfield, the classic sci-fi series she grew up watching with her late father. So when she sees a cosplay contest for a new Starfield movie, she has to enter. The prize? An invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball, and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. With savings from her gig at the Magic Pumpkin food truck (and her dad’s old costume), Elle’s determined to win . . . unless her stepsisters get there first.

Teen actor Darien Freeman used to live for cons—before he was famous. Now they’re nothing but autographs and awkward meet-and-greets. Playing Carmindor is all he’s ever wanted, but the Starfield fandom has written him off as just another dumb heartthrob. As ExcelsiCon draws near, Darien feels more and more like a fake—until he meets a girl who shows him otherwise.

Part romance, part love letter to nerd culture, and all totally adorbs, Geekerella is a fairy tale for anyone who believes in the magic of fandom.

Adorable!

This book was incredibly adorable! It took a while to get into the story, as with any book, but once you did you were completely immersed into the story. I could not put this book down and ended up finishing it in a day! The story includes two fans of Starfield, which I essentially equate to Star Trek mixed with Star Wars, and their journey to finding themselves through this shared interest and how it plays into their lives as a whole. I loved the characters and how their stories resolve in the end. What I hope people take away from this book, as I really resonated with this aspect myself being a geek too, is to always be yourself no matter what others may think. It’s okay to have unconventional interests, so just be confident and know that there will always be people out there with those same interests! :)

just here for the time ,

Thoroughly entertaining!

This was a great adaptation of the Cinderella story, updated for modern times. The emotions, insecurities, and desires of the characters, your typical teenagers is spot on.

Look to the stars!

Geeks unite in this modern retelling of Cinderella! I’ve had this sitting on my TBR list for some time now. I’m glad I finally bumped it up. I really enjoyed it. It was a nice break from my usual reads.

The narrators do an amazing job bringing the characters to life. Although there were some slight technical issues on the male POV but nothing that ruined the overall experience.
