    Reuben Ephraim ,

    Eloy Reveals All

This book is Eloy’s most autobiographical work. He dispels his process and what it was like to be born in Ecuador but raised in the Bronx. He provides the reader with images of his artwork from his humble beginnings and the evolution that his style went through. He describes how he discovered certain motifs and how he sees them as characters in a greater narrative. We see the evolution of his style, and his coping with his national heritage. He even gives us a glimpse to how he titles his pieces. He sees specific things in them, and even points them out to the reader, but it’s up to the reader/viewer of the art to decide what they see within it, and it could be something completely different from what Eloy says it is, but that’s part of what makes his art so fantastic. It’s that you can view it anyway you like and you can see whatever it is you want to see in it.
