This weeks guest on Stand Out with Ian O’Connell is Paddy Smyth. Paddy is from Dublin and is a disabled rights campaigner and TV personality, won Channel 4 social media-themed reality show The Circle in 2019. Paddy has also appeared as a contestant on First Dates Ireland and on Celebrity Pulling With my Parents. Paddy shared his struggles with cerebral palsy on The Circle and raised awareness. We will be talking about Paddy’s life growing up with cerebral palsy, the daily challenges that he faces, the good and bad of reality television, being an accidental disability activist and more.

This weeks  guest on Stand Out with Ian O’Connell is Imogen Cotter. Imogen is an Irish professional racing cyclist. In January 2022 she was injured in Spain while training. She suffered a ruptured quadriceps tendon, a broken patella, radius and ulna after being hit by a car driving on the wrong side of the road and she is here tonight to tell her story. We will be talking about Imogen’s personal life, Imogen’s life changing accident and the injuries that she sustained, her collaboration with the Road Society Authority (RSA) cycling and more.

I’m delighted to say that my guest this week on Stand Out with me Ian O’Connell is Toiréasa Ferris. Toiréasa. Toiréasa is an Irish former Sinn Féin politician who has served as a Kerry County Councillor for Tralee from 2003 to 2019. Ferris is a part-time tutor in law at Tralee Community College.
We’ll be talking about her thoughts on where politics is in Ireland today, direct names and negativity thrown at her, Toiréasas time in politics, her dyslexia, body image and much more.

This weeks guest on Stand Out with Ian O’Connell is Kevin Cronin. Kevin is a professional boxer from Milltown in County Kerry and has a very promising future ahead of him. Kevin last fought earlier this month in in Boston Masachushis getting his hand raised by way of 4th round TKO and his management Conlan boxing is eyeing up a homecoming fight in Kerry next for Kevin.
We will be talking about growing up, choosing between Football and boxing, dark side of boxing, homecoming fight, Kevin’s big goals and much more.

This week’s guest on Stand Out with Ian O’Connell is Deborah McCormack. This weeks guest is a very different topic than usual and a topic that’s not talked about a lot. In 2021 Deborah made the choice to transition. Although she knew for a while she set a certain date to come out publicly and she joins me tonight to tell her story.

We will be talking about Deborah coming out, her transition, life now and much more.

This week's guest on Stand Out with Ian O’Connell is David Holmes. David was a stunt double for Daniel Ratcliffe (Harry Potter). In January 2009 Holmes was seriously injured and left partially paralyzed after an accident during the filming of a stunt test for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. In 2020 launched a podcast with Daniel Radcliffe, called Cunning Stunts, interviewing other stunt actors to raise awareness about the risks they face.
