My guest today are two Imperial Valley natives who wrote and illustrated a children's book to bring awareness on the near extinction of a beautiful creature who lives very near to us, the vaquita.  Although the vaquita wasn't discovered until 1958 it only took a little over 60 years for humans to bring it to the brink of extinction.  Ruben and Sheyla hope that with this children's book they can bring awareness to this issue and inspired kids to save not only the vaquita but other endangered species out there.  Sheyla and Ruben have started a Kickstarted to help them fund the publishing of their book, they plan on donating some of their copies to libraries in our area.
