Canoo 2.0 has been redesigned and rebuilt from top to bottom to address the most serious issues of the old app and pave the way for an amazing range of new features and benefits.
First things first: the signup and signin processes are a lot easier and a lot more reliable. Problems scanning documents should be a thing of the past!
We have also expanded the range of benefits Canoo members can access to include sports, concerts, community activities, and exclusive deals from Canada’s leading brands.
Our brand new design takes inspiration from the “trail blaze”: the painted lines that mark your path as you hike through the magnificent beauty of Canada. These lines always tell you where you are, where you’re going, and most importantly, when you have arrived at your destination. We hope that Canoo will be your trail blaze as you explore the country you’ve chosen to call home.
Canoo provides newcomers with free VIP access to over 1,400 of our country’s most exciting cultural and outdoor experiences.
From the Vancouver Art Gallery and the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History, to Wood Buffalo National Park and the Royal Ontario Museum, Canoo gives you and up to four children unlimited free admission to the best places in Canada for one full year. This includes hundreds of national and provincial and other nature experiences..
Canoo also gives you and up to four children a one-time discount of 50% off VIA Rail Canada travel anywhere across the country, and a one-time discount of 15% for domestic travel with Air Canada (maximum four tickets).

Broken in iOS 17
The app would crash in iOS 17 when you click the check-in
Don’t bother downloading
You won’t pass the registration. We can understand that the organization is a non-profit, but that doesn’t excuse failing at the very first step - registration. The app asks you to scan front and back of the PR card or Citizenship but the system doesn’t work, it doesn’t matter what background you use or light conditions, using different phones an all, it won’t work. Developers response is to reinstall the app and “keep trying”. How many times you ask? Well anything from 1-1000 times or until your patience runs out after 2 hours (like me). At this point I rather pay for tickets and venues and support the parks than trying to use the app. The organization has a Honourable idea to help new Canadians, but with an inexcusable extremely frustrating app.
Cannot register because citizenship certificate scan cannot detect gender
I never write a review but this is a shame. When prompted I scanned my citizenship certificate but the app couldn’t detect the gender. I thought it was because of the French language so uninstalled it and repeated the process and it still the same. Certificate is out of plastic sleeve, well lit, very clear and the phone camera is very good. Please fix this or let us input our own data and do the verification on the backend.
