Publisher Description

Coen Highsmith was a league star, but he lost more than his team the day the Pittsburgh Titans’ plane crashed. Can he be saved from his downward spiral of guilt and regret to become the man he once was?

I had it all—a successful hockey career, the respect and adoration of the fans, a rotation of beautiful women warming my bed, and a feeling of self-worth and contentment with the direction of my life. But that all changed the day the team plane went down, taking my only chance of redemption with it. Now I’m left with the daily reminder of all my failures and my inability to correct them.

My new teammates are tired of my attitude and following my suspension, I hole up in a mountain cabin to get away from all of it. The isolation is exactly what I need to get out of my own head, and I’m beginning to think I could be content in this quiet forever.

Tillie Marshall isn’t the type of woman who would usually catch my attention, yet she manages to do so for all the wrong reasons. I’m here for the peace and seclusion but the quirky artist is hell-bent on destroying that by cutting down the trees that separate our properties so she can open a pottery studio. If it’s a fight she wants, it’s a fight she’ll get. I have the money and the time and no issues bringing her down through the court system. While I see flashes of steely determination within her, I’ve found that being a jerk comes naturally these days and she won’t be hard to intimidate.

Unfortunately, that gorgeous and somewhat odd neighbor who has been causing me grief is creating another type of feeling within me. And once that spark is lit, Tillie displays a faith in me that for the first time since the crash I desperately want to believe. Now it’s time for me to step up and become the man—no, a better man than I once was.

Been waiting for this and LOVED IT

This series has owned me. Through all the feels!
Every. Single. One.

I have waited for this book and it didn’t disappoint.

I have felt for Coen and all that he lost. This book helped me understand where it was all coming from.

And flipping adored Tilly. So much. And Coen’s defense of her.

I. Loved. This.

Loved it!

Talk about a broody male, Coen is the epitome of one as he navigates his life. He lives with guilt and is punishing himself through most of the story. A hockey player for the Titans he survived the teams’ plane crash as he had the flu. He is surly, argumentative and an all around negative person. He buys a cabin in the woods where he doesn’t have to be or speak with anyone….ahhh the best laid plans did not include neighbor, Tillie, an all around sweet optimistic person. A great story once again from Sawyer Bennett where we have a wounded , broody male and a sunshine sweetie. I love these stories and hope they never end!

The Lucky Three…

The Lucky Three…dubbed so for surviving the plane crash that killed the Pittsburgh Titans hockey team and the supporting staff. Only, Coen Highsmith didn’t feel so lucky. He was tortured! Coen Highsmith spent months making every member on the Titans miserable. All of his teammates reached out to try and help him, but he didn’t feel worthy of such brotherhood. It wasn’t until he was suspended and offered the chance to get away to a secluded cabin, that he faced his demons—with a little help from his neighbor Tillie.

After the loss of her parents, Tillie used the money to purchase a house that had enough land and an easement to fulfill her dreams. Like her parents, Tillie is artistic. She wanted to build a place where she can teach art classes and have other artists come out and be able to sculpt, work with pottery, etc. The one thing holding her back is her miserable neighbor. While she admits he’s gorgeous and there is a spark, she hates that he may be thwarting her dreams! So, Coen sues Tillie over easement rights. While she’s furious, she’s also fascinated.

Coen and Tillie are COMBUSTIBLE! They are hot together, yet confusing. I love how protective Coen is over Tillie, even though he “hates” her. He doesn’t allow her to be bullied! Tillie is tough when she needs to be and not afraid to give Coen a piece of her mind. Little by little, Tillie is able to peel back the layers to Coen’s anger, anguish. She helps him believe and forgive himself because he/they can’t move on until he does. Frankly, I think Chip stole the show:). I highly recommend this novel! Sawyer Bennett is an amazing author who doesn’t disappoint. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
