Conor Oberst interview
12/26/2024
I just have to get this off my chest. Gorgeous interview. It’s absolutely insane for Conor Oberst to say he wasn’t very political when he wrote “when the president talks to god” when read music/speak Spanish was already out? It’s what radicalized me, or is what resounded with why I was anti-capitalist at the very least? I hope no income gets taken from him while I still request he reconcile this. Thank you.

Will Smith? No one cares. He is a joke. Lost all credibility with this one. One of the most underrated bands of the 1990’s please interview Rob Dickinson. From being Bruce Dickinson’s cousin, to working with Tim Friese-Greene, to now Singer Porsche Design group. Also, touching base with Tim Friese-Greens would be appreciated—especially because of his work with the greatest band Talk Talk.
Will Smith?? Cmon.

I’ve tried to get into this pod because there are many talented artists and interviewers, but it’s never clicked. Excitedly interviewing Will Smith in 2025 is comical and should be embarrassing.
The chocolate and peanut butter of cringe

I can’t think of two bigger know nothing blowhards than Gladwell and Rubin.
Don’t waste your time

Rick Rubin is a man with no discernible talent of his own who happened to be in the right place at the right time and made a fortune. This show is mostly Rick saying “yeah” and “right” to whatever comes out of the mouths of his subjects. Zero substance.
timid Malcolm is a poor interviewer

while Malcolm is a decent writer, he is a poor interviewer. this podcast is uninteresting and a waste of time. the self absorbed gladwell, loves to talk about himself. not tor me.
Thank You

Thanks to all involved for the Blue Note artists episodes. All in the series are wonderful and especially enjoyed the sessions with the legendary Charles Lloyd and Maestro Ron Carter!
Soliloquy
07/25/2024
Bachman is an original and a legend. Would have been nice if he had allowed the interviewer to get a word in Edgewise. Instead we got a monologue about how amazing Randy was. By Randy, just ask him. He’ll tell you for 45 minutes straight about his awesome self.
Live songs
08/22/2024
They cut out all the live performances. I don’t get it. This podcast would be a 5 star if not for that.
Eliminating songs or clips
07/09/2024
Just ruins the show. It’s hard to engage in something that’s being discussed when we don’t have the opportunity to hear the clip. For instance, with Pentatonix, I couldn’t follow what was so wonderful when all I could hear was Malcolm’s reaction. I thought this podcast would be interesting, but it’s a bit disappointing. Even musicians singing in person get blanked out. 🤷🏻♂️
