Sigourney Award Recipient Dr. Jorge Ulnik on Skin, Psychoanalysis, Psychosomatic Disorders and the Effects of the Pandemic

Arash's World Podcast

In this episode, I have the great pleasure and honor of speaking with physician, psychodermatologist, and psychoanalyst Dr. Jorge Ulnik, the first of three 2021 Sigourney Award Recipients. Jorge actively promotes and propagates psychoanalytic thought and practice across the world; he belongs to the Argentine Psychoanalytic Association and teaches at the University of Buenos Aires. He has an interest in psychosomatic conditions and disorders and has a unique, commendable, and effective approach to various skin issues and diseases.

We talk about the effects of the pandemic on day-to-day life, such as wearing masks, using technology, keeping a distance, and the lack of human contact. We also discuss other fascinating topics, such as the use of tattoos and avatars, the pervading influence of advertisement, the changing nature of social perception and acceptance, and a psychoanalytic discussion of popular shows and movies!
