This app is really better than the comdigital, Very user friendly, good Ui and very professional. But the only useless thing is it tells to change password every month, which is real hard to keep it remembered, when changing password frequently. And another dissatisfaction is that the bank charge higher fees for exchange rates and also charging fees for online banking. And also a important feature must be added where, when making fund transfers the name doesn’t show-up automatically when the account number is entered for outerbanks. But for interbank this feature is available and it’s useful. Please bring this feature as this can prevent from making funds to other accounts mistakenly. Preventing typos.
Disappointed with HNB’s Mobile App and OTP Service
I have been an HNB customer for almost three years and have always appreciated their service—until recently. Over the past few months, the HNB mobile app has become nearly unusable. It frequently displays an error message stating, "things are not well at the moment," making it incredibly frustrating to log in. Sometimes, I have to wait several minutes just to access my account.
The OTP (One-Time Password) system is even worse. Whenever I try to transfer funds, the OTP takes an unreasonably long time to arrive—if it arrives at all. I reported this issue to the bank, and after a few days, I received a message saying my inquiry was "resolved." However, the problem remains exactly the same, with OTPs still failing to reach my phone on time.
Additionally, I recently had to apply for a new debit card due to an unauthorized online transaction made on my card in the middle of the night. Fortunately, I noticed the SMS alerts and was able to contact the bank immediately to block the card. After visiting the bank to get a replacement, I was told to activate it at an HNB ATM using an OTP. To my disbelief, the OTP arrived the next day! As a result, my new card is still unusable.
The app is unreliable, the SMS service is completely ineffective, and overall, this has been a horrible experience. After dealing with these issues for months, I have decided to switch to another bank. I can no longer trust HNB with my banking needs.
Need a debit card and a bank visit, Too slow and too many errors,
This app was great when it first arrived. fluid and convenient. Lately it’s slow, every tap has a loading time it’s really inconvenient and takes way too long to do simple tasks let alone a transfer. There are also errors when doing transactions “not available at the moment” where you have to repeat the steps over and over again. There is also a season expired error that happens when you complete a transaction and tap “transfer” even when you just logged in to make a transfer. Overall too many bugs to use this. The initial sign in was also inconvenient as I had to actually visit a branch since I don’t use a debit card. Editing the review since the debit card dependency still exists. I’m trying to reset the passcode and the process requires the PIN number of your debit card. Why ? Why do you need a debit card, isn’t the whole purpose of going digital to reduce and move away from bank visits ? If you dont use a debit card why are you forced to have one and remember a pin ? I can login to online banking and do the same without a debit card so there is no additional security layer added. This is a real inconvenience and some stupid barrier that your it team fails to address
