Heart Essentials

Heart's origins date back to the late '60s in Seattle, but it wasn't until frontwoman Ann Wilson signed up in 1972 and her singing/guitar-playing sister Nancy joined two years later that the band's lifelong creative core was established. Their 1976 debut Dreamboat Annie kicked off a hard-rocking but accessible streak that lasted nearly a decade, until 1985's self-titled glossy pop reinvention climbed even further up the commercial ladder. Recording and touring seasons have rarely simmered since, and in 2013 the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
