Good Idea but NEEDS Work

I like the idea of being able to submit a request for DC Services online but this app needs some serious tweaking. First there is not fingerprint access. Next, it requires you to fill in all your contact data for each request even though you have a completed profile, which is ridiculous and wastes time. The App also does not save all of your service requests in your history section like the original app which requires you to have to track it separately to be able to follow up on your issues. Additionally, the reported comments from DC Service Reps rarely show up explaining what actions were taken and why closed with no apparent action. And last but not least, some of the services available for reporting under the original app were removed from this newest version. i.e. being able to report overgrown yards in vacant houses. Hopefully changes will be made to improve this app.

Poor Execution

This app is a step backwards from the SeeClickFix app it replaces. The UI is pretty poor - some menu elements are outside of the tappable area on my iPhoneX. Map functionality also needs work. Also it would be great if comment functionality was added back. Previously you could add new comments on a submitted ticket. As far as I can tell, that is no longer an option. Side note, closed tickets don’t appear to update in the app. Not sure if this is the app’s fault or just the laziness of DC 311 not closing out tickets. I have several that have been open forever.

Works. Can’t complain yet…

I’m not sure what all these negative reviews are complaining about, but I opened the app, searched for yard waste, filled out all the necessary info, and it shot me a confirmation email. Now…whether they actually show up is another matter entirely, but using the app itself was pretty seamless with the slight exception of setting up an account. I don’t particularly care about that part as long as the services I pay exorbitant taxes to fund actually take care of my issues.
