Inspired by Northern European styles, pianist/composer Dario Faini melds minimal classical sounds with atmospheric electronics under the guise of Dardust. Faini’s compositions are personal and grounded in terrestrial epiphanies. His album trilogy—7, Birth and S.A.D. Storm and Drugs—passes through Berlin, Reykjavík and London, taking listeners on a cinematic journey of urban ennui and modern-day anxieties. But it’s not all inward-looking music. Thanks to collaborations with club producers like Benny Benassi, Faini brings the beats, too.
