Episode 5 - Rebecca Melham | Food and Travel Blogger

Lebanese poet Kahlil Gibran once said, “You give but little, when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself, that you truly give”. And our special guest on this week’s brand new episode of “Libnanie with Elie” embodies this very quality.
Rebecca Melham, food and travel blogger of Hearty Food Voyage, joins us all the way from Bordeaux, France to discuss her recent 5-day trip to Lebanon, eating “ashta” ice cream for the very first time, reconnecting with her father’s roots, the cultural difference between Lebanese and Australian people, the mature conversation of children in Lebanon, and grassroots strategies that Lebanese citizens can implement towards a better Lebanon.
In the spirit of giving, the Master of International Law graduate has also produced a YouTube video of her recent trip to Lebanon; raw footage that captures the beauty and charm that we call home. Check out the YouTube video here: https://bit.ly/3vaY1gG. Warning: Keep a box of tissues near you.

Episode 3 - Camille Lattouf | Lebanese Film Festival Director

Episode 3 - Camille Lattouf | Lebanese Film Festival Director

From Capernaum to The Insult, and everything in between, the Lebanese Film Festival in Australia has screened over 250 Lebanese-based films from around the world. One might say, it's a gift that keeps on giving.
Lebanese Film Festival director Camille Lattouf, our special guest for this week's episode of "Libnanie with Elie", discusses the importance of showing a piece of the Libnanie on-screen to Lebanese and non-Lebanese audiences, the glamourised representations of the Lebanese Civil War and the Beirut explosion, the valuable contribution of Lebanon's university students to the film industry, and the colourful fusion of Western and Eastern elements in Lebanese art and culture.
Although the current COVID-19 lockdown has postponed the 10th year anniversary of the LFF until next year, Camille drops a major spoiler: the Festival will be bigger and better than ever before.
