A German rapper whose Tamil parents moved from their native Sri Lanka prior to his birth in Duisburg, MaJoe (Mayjuran Ragnathan) initially rapped as one-half of a duo with Serbian partner Jasko. Together, they released a pair of albums for the Banger Musik label: Mobbing Musik (2012) and MaJoe vs. Jasko (2013). MaJoe subsequently recorded as a solo artist for Banger and debuted with Breiter als der Türsteher (2014). The release, featuring Banger founder Farid Bang and Kollegah, among other collaborators, topped Germany's Media Control chart, as well as Switzerland's Schweizer Hitparade. It also reached number three in Austria. MaJoe topped the German charts again with his 2017 release Auge des Tigers, which was packaged with a bonus EP, Summit. ~ Andy Kellman
