Informative and insightful

I came across this gem of a podcast after listening to David Olney on Unforgiving60. I didn’t expect answer to the big questions but got perspectives and tools to look, question and comprehend the world we live in. The discussions are thought provoking and honest. Glad I have a fair few episodes to binge and digest. Keep up the awesome work it’s quite engaging.

Exquisite Conversations

These gentlemen (and they really are gentlemen) have the most exquisite conversations with each other and their guests. It’s obvious David and Tim are both highly intelligent and knowledgeable - admirable traits but not exactly uncommon. What sets them apart is that they’re respectful considerate and receptive to others thoughts whilst obviously having their own highly developed and well thought out opinions. They’re obviously their own people but if you enjoy the thoughts of people like Richard Fiedler, James May, or Louie Theroux it might be up your alley.

Enjoyable

I came to this via Ben & Tim at U60. The thinking is great. The episode on Eastern & Western thought to a degree however conflates Christianity the religion with the Christianity of Jesus direct teachings. The teachings are to be anything but compliant - in fact always be counter-cultural, seek equally for others as for yourself, whereas modern Christianity can easily fall into the trap of being a good little democratic capitalist, or close to. Jesus taught that self-gain is a razors edge. Dr N.T. Wright has done some excellent work in Christianity, Epicureanism & Stoicism. Cheers 🤙🏽
