The Black American Experience in Germany with Lucky

The Black American Experience in Germany with Lucky

The contents of this conversation are nothing new. The Black experience abroad has been discussed by many Black people online. I learned something new beyond the "race discussion," which is why this episode is an interesting one if you pay attention. Lucky is from Sacramento, California and we discuss what it's like to be both Black and American in Germany, playing into stereotypes, and fatherhood.

Handling Breakups (Even With Friends) with Patricia

Handling Breakups (Even With Friends) with Patricia

Breakups hurt and you don't know how to process what just happened. I've experienced all sorts of breakups, including friendships, and I believe we all have except we don't talk about it enough. Patricia is from Venezuela and we both have a lot of similarities being Latinas from Miami, Florida; however, we also lived parallel lives. She asks me questions that range from dating in your late 20s, the heavy blow of friendship breakups, and finding your tribe.

Unconventional Interviews — great facilitator!

I listened through a couple of Barbara’s interviews, and I love that she is willing to have unconventional conversations and facilitate when needed, especially in this last episode between the ex’s. Keep up the good work!

A voice to be heard

I enjoyed listening to Barbara’s conversations with her guests. She’s not afraid of being herself and bring a fresh perspective to different topics. As a mom, it is a window to new ideas and views that I can use and pass along to my kids. Being a young Latina or Latino in the United States comes with some challenges, and it’s through conversation that we can make this challenges a little easier to overcome. A special shout out to Maciel, one of her guests, for being so honest and transparent about the issues a young, ambitious and bilingual Latina goes through growing up in the U.S. Keep up the good work Barbara, you have a voice an people are listening!
