Philistine apologism for Mohammedan Barbarism
2 days ago
I wasn’t impressed by the latest episode. Just more denigrating the west, with the attendant worship of barbarism. They’ve turned Turks like the rest of the establishment; and they are the establishment. Like Midas, they can never have that which they covet, can they? They can take it but they can never have it. That is the fate of the philistine. That’s why they are always so angry. Utterly blind to the beautiful, the good and the true which the Western civilised world has in abundance. They really can’t appreciate it, and for that, I pity them.
Very western focused

To bolster your DEI credentials, how about taking a look at the lot of women in Muslim households since the invention of the political religion? Or consider the treatment of Jews and Christians by the Muslims of the Early Modern world? Or how non-Muslims were portrayed in medieval and Early Modern Islamic written sources?

Fantastic! So insightful and emotive. History that impacts our present time. Well done presenter and host.
Left wing academic melting pot of wokeness.

I really tried and tried but I can’t listen to this anymore.
Very poor

I got halfway through the review of the greatest historical films of all time and couldn’t make myself listen to their smug, sneering, critique on the poor judgement of the ignorant plebs any longer. Couldn’t you have picked a panel with some varied views and opinions to have perhaps some sort of discussion? Unsubscribed
Brilliant podcast

I have been a huge fan for 10 years, but please David Musgrove you maybe an excellent historian but you are terrible at journalism.
The Venerable Bede
06/11/2024
I just listened to the historian Michelle P Brown discoursing on the life of the Venerable Bede and had to come on to say how deeply interesting I found her. She delivered vast tracts of information in a gentle and thoughtful manner that conveyed oceans of understanding and depth. Thank you for such provocation to thought both of Bede’s time and our own.
Please no more David Musgrove…
