Publisher Description

The question in this first volume is resoundingly clear: What can the peace-loving mice of Redwall Abbey do to defend themselves against Cluny the Scourge and his battle-seasoned army of rats? If only they had the sword of Martin the Warrior, they might have a chance. But the legendary weapon has long been forgotten-except, that is, by the bumbling young apprentice Matthias, who becomes the unlikeliest of heroes. Teeming with riddles, humor, unforgettable characters, and high-bounding adventure, the original Redwall, the launching point for a series that has captured the world's attention, features seven full-color illustrations by renowned illustrator Troy Howell. This new paperback edition is a must-have for both longtime fans and first-time readers.

:)

I love it! (Rn I’m only into book 2 of book 8, “Outcast of red wall”) and all of the food makes me so hungry when I go to bed. It’s quite gruesome, but also really interesting.

Pretty good

I liked it. Lots of action. Spoiler alert, Cluny is the hero.

Also everyone in this book is British. I don’t care whether they’re in America or not, they’re all British and you cannot tell me otherwise.

Edit: their accents are now Irish. Cornflower sounds like Merida from brave.

Editing again: British, yet again!

Redwall

as a young ambitions reader at age 4, i had not yet developed the literary skills nor the imagination (although mine was quite vivid) to grasp this tale. i gave up. years later i voraciously devoured this entire series. years later… many years later, as an adult i had injured myself with at least four weeks of recovery time and i didn’t know what to do with myself. by chance i picked this series to be my time-spender as i recovered and healed. i had forgotten more than i knew about Redwall. i had forgotten everything except the zeal that this author brought his audience. read well and enjoy folks! thank you again to the author. one day at a time helps me and one day at a time i am reading. thank you sir.
