Quick easy read novella
Beginning of the End is the prequel to Kylie Scott’s book End of Story.
It gives us a small introduction to Susie and some of her family dynamic. And we see the relationship she has with her roomie and best friend Cleo. It also gives us a small insight to her her currently relationship and how it ends up being a fire in a dumpster truck. It also does give us a small look into Lars, but only enough to make you slightly curious. But one of the ending lines of the novella is what captures my attention. “Look it’s a falling star, make a wish.”Wonder what she wished for? Was it so that she can grow into the person she was meant to be, or to bring a healthy relationship into her life with her family or even a New Romantic one?
Guess I’ll have to read End of Story to see how things pan out. Quick, easy, sharp and spunky listen. I listened to the audiobook for End of Story and the prequel was included.
Great Start to the Story
I actually read this book AFTER END OF STORY, which did not negatively impact either story at all. BEGINNING OF THE END is the perfect segue into this world, and, especially having seen how things work out for all of the characters, gives glimpses into the make-up of Lars, Susie, and the gang that end up making perfect sense as the rest of the story unfolds.
While this book was an epilogue for me, I highly recommend reading it prior to END OF STORY. Kylie has done a great job of world building and setting the stage so that everything that comes after makes perfect sense. 4.5 stars and a recommendation to grab this book! ❤️
Can’t Wait for the Next One
Susie is a lovely woman inside and out, but she doesn’t always see her own worth. When her boyfriend announces that he’s taking a position in London for a year, she’s shocked, but tries to look on the bright side of things. All she wants is her happy ending and she really deserves one. This is a great set up, leaving you wanting to know what happens next. Luckily that book is coming soon!
