Great audio listen

Spicy romantic suspense?! Say less. I loved this book. It had all the qualities I enjoy in a book and the banter was top notch. Dare I say I enjoyed this book more than the first one? Looking forward to jumping into the next one ASAP since this one ends on a bit of a cliffy. The audio was done so well.

Loving Levi and Marsh

In my review for book one, Dead Draw, I mistakenly said that this series was probably a duet. It's, in fact, a trilogy. Once upon a time, that would have thrown me for a loop, but not anymore. I have come to embrace duets and trilogies like I always have interconnected series...if not more. When done well, trilogies are exciting, well-written and character driven. I'm happy to say, The Perfect Play trilogy is all that! Having only read one other book by Ms. Reyne before this set, I was already in love with Marshall (I was introduced in Sean, Trevor and Charlotte's book). And while I liked Levi well enough in book one, now I love him. Because in Bad Bishop, we see him really connecting with Marsh on an emotional level, even as their world is in turmoil around them. Picking up right where Dead Draw ends, the men are on their way to Marsh's family home with David, to try to keep them all safe. We're introduced, or reintroduced in some cases, to friends and family of the Marshall family and It's obvious I'm not reading the back-catalog of the author fast enough...because I need their stories in my hand now! I definitely read and enjoyed this book without the full backstory...I just want to read it first-hand. While much of the second part of the book deals with the action and mystery surrounding the case(s) Marsh and Levi are investigating, there is still a lot of touching and funny episodes. Marsh's two moms are a hoot and I love that they instantly embrace Levi and David with both arms and hearts. David's crush on Trevor gave me a few chuckles and his connection to the pint-sized charming dictator Lily was very sweet. But the connection that charmed and thrilled me the most was marsh and Levi. Feelings beyond the physical attraction are growing and it's awesome. For all his strength and alpha-ness, Marsh has a marshmallow center and a tender heart. Watching Levi tend so carefully to is everything. It really warmed my heart as well. The only thing I don't love...the wait until next spring for the final book to come out!! I'm not sure I'm that patient! The only good thing about that is, I can read more of Ms. Reyne's wonderful books and re-read the first two books again before King Hunt is released. That's the spin I'm telling myself, anyway!
