Levi Hummon

Singer Levi Hummon’s hyper-catchy tunes blur the line between turbocharged pop and polished country music, tying things together with a bright, nimble voice that gives it all an R&B bent. Hummon was born into music in Nashville in 1991 as the son of Marcus Hummon, a veteran Music City songwriter. Owing to some tough-love feedback from musical family friend Desmond Child, the younger Hummon packed away his guitar at the end of high school and headed off to college in Florida, but he couldn’t ignore the six-string in his closet and quickly returned to songwriting. His debut, self-titled EP arrived in 2016 with modern, rootsy pop like “Love You Hate You Miss You,” and 2018’s Patient offered a similar vibe but started leaning more toward R&B on tracks like “I Still Do.” In 2020, he released the jam of the bridal season: “Wedding Dress,” a sophisticated love song that doubles as a proposal. He was found sounding as country as he ever did on 2021’s plucky “Paying For It” with Walker Hayes.
