    25. How to Thrive During Times of Transition and Change

Change, whether anticipated or unexpected, is an inevitable part of our lives and careers. Yes, it can be a source of anxiety or uncertainty…  but change also presents opportunities for growth. In this episode of Her Leading Story, I share an episode from Back Pocket Coach, where I spoke with Vicki Abelson about the power of embracing change and navigating career transitions.
    Key Insights
The Power of Change: Change, while often initially perceived as negative, can act as a catalyst for personal and professional growth.
Understanding Your Motivations (and your Colleague’s):  By understanding our own core motivations and those of the people we work with, we can build trust and create a more supportive work environment.
Navigating Expectations and Communication:  As leaders, it's important to communicate expectations clearly while also offering support and resources to help individuals and teams adapt effectively.

    23. Tools for Growth: Figuring Out What You Want (Replay)

    23. Tools for Growth: Figuring Out What You Want (Replay)

This week, we're revisiting an earlier solo episode of Her Leading Story.  I'll be digging a little deeper into some journaling and reflection exercises that will help you tune into yourself, to point the way to your next best career move.
    In this episode, I discuss:
How many of us are socialized to achieve and "climb the ladder"...  but how we can end up at mid-career doing work we don't truly find fulfilling.
Using the "decades" exercise for self-reflection to identify lifelong interests and patterns.
Paying attention to "energy and flow" to pinpoint activities and work aspects that energize you...as well as those that leave you feeling drained.
Let's dive back into these exercises together.

Authenticity

There are a lot of podcasts about women founders and leaders but Julie’s approach is authentic and inspiring. I loved listening to a bunch of these interviews and thinking about how I can make small changes in my life.

I hesitated b/c I’m not sure I want a leadership position

Which turned out to be exactly why this podcast is a good fit for me. It’s A LOT to balance in this life for a woman ~ work, family, friends, getting my own needs met. This podcasts will be very good for my brain, for my focus on what is important to me, and my focus on where I want to go. Thank you Julie ✨
