Such valuable information. I think it can help a lot of people deal with pain and also open up your eyes and mind to long time misconceptions about stretching muscles and what that means. I’ve been practicing yoga since 1998 once I discovered Ayama and MAT techniques I felt like I discovered an entire new practice. These Podcast’s are a great introduction, it will leave you wanting more.

A complete shock to anyone who has spent their lives believing that stretching is a core basic of all physical activity. Yogi Aaron lays out a clear and compelling antithesis to that concept based in personal experience and supporting science of why stretching is not the road to flexibility and mobility and may very well be a road block! I like the calm and quiet way he shared his own story and the voices of people who have followed his route through the process of AYAMA Worth a close listen. It just might blow your mind!

Yogi Aaron’s teaching are amazing!! He provides wisdom, guidance and explanations in a positive & encouraging way. The AYAMA/ MAT guidance provided significant Knowledge which allowed me as a new yoga instructor to feel confident in my abilities with a new client, who just happened to be a physician! That client was impressed that could accurately articulate the muscles, locations, why we practice such poses and the connection between it all. Thank You so much Yogi Aaron for sharing your wisdom and making changes in people’s lives!!
‘A Must Listen’ for yoga teachers!

Anyone who is a yoga teacher needs to listen to this podcast! Yoga as it’s taught today is all about stretching, flexibility, and going deeper.But we’re doing it all wrong! I love how Yogi Aaron is rattling the narrative around main stream yoga practice. I learned so much listening to these episodes… And now when I practice or when I’m teaching I’m having all of these a-ha moments. What I learned here is really starting to shift my approach to yoga. I hope to be able to study directly with Yogi Aaron in the future!

I am really enjoying this podcast so far! I love to hear the facts and science behind why stretching is hurting us and why we should stop stretching and start strengthening! It makes so much sense! Yogi Aaron's story is a powerful one and he presents it with such grace and humor. I also really like the way he has brought in experts in the field and shares their knowledge and insight too! It's fascinating to hear how many people have become pain free practicing AYAMA. This is a great listen and I am looking forward to hearing the next episodes. As a yoga teacher, this podcast provides powerful tools for me to pass on to my students and is helping with my own personal practice as well.
Less stretching, but more MAT.

By listening to this podcast, I understood that since I was a child, my teachers in school and high school were all wrong about stretching. After stretching for many years, my right knee was in pain; no matter how much I stretched before running, the pain was not going away; I had to stop running for a while. Now with a couple of MAT techniques for activating my muscles before running, I can run without knee issues. I am living a life without stretching less and activating muscles more.

A fascinating exploration of stretching, flexibility, and yoga. I’ve followed conventional wisdom on stretching my whole life… now I know why I’ve had ongoing knee issues while marathon training. The muscle activation exercises I’ve incorporated into my schedule are already making a massive difference in my strength and stability. I think I’m using my glutes for the first time (lol). Aaron has just the right tone to make this an educational but light listen - perfect for walks or in the car, and I laugh every time Aaron does, too! :)
Eye-opening examination on stretching

This podcast is a must-listen for anyone who practices yoga (and, really, just anyone.) As a yoga instructor, I’ve been stretching for years. This podcast really made me think about why I’m passively stretching, and consider the bio mechanical implications of overstretching. Highly looking forward to the next few episodes!!
