The Perils of the Trump Cases
Ravi welcomes Amy Davidson Sorkin from The New Yorker to the show to explore the legal challenges of the various cases against Donald Trump, including the immunity case before the Supreme Court, and the potential consequences of a conviction before the election. They then turn to Joseph Fischer v. United States and discuss how the Supreme Court might rule on whether prosecutors can use federal obstruction laws to charge individuals involved in the January 6 Capitol attack.
Tim Daly, founder of The Education Daly and CEO of EdNavigator, then joins Ravi to explain why experts considered Finland the exemplar of quality education for many years and what we can learn from its steep decline. Ravi and Tim talk about how Finland's education system impacted advocacy around No Child Left Behind and why it's important to develop a deeper understanding of what drives educational success.

Protests Escalate, Ceasefire Talks, Trump Immunity

The Supreme Court listened to oral arguments last week over Donald Trump’s claim of immunity from federal criminal charges for trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election. Ravi looks at the potential outcomes of the case and what the implications might be.
Finally, Ravi welcomes Mark Keierleber, an investigative reporter at The 74, to the show. Mark and Ravi discuss the educator experience in 2024, from AI to school shootings. They also discuss the surprising ways students have begun to use AI, what it means to hold parents accountable if their children commit a crime, and why the debate over gun control in schools continues to fall along party lines.

Ok coming back to revise my review because I do really enjoy Ravi’s thoughtful solo takes and the guests that have been on recently (even though I still do miss Rikki!)

I’ve been listening for a while and I used to love this show but have lately been missing Rikki’s perspective. I hope the debate aspect of this show can come back; there was a refreshing and excellent balance is not there for me at the moment.
