Holly, jolly and all that's naughty...
Holly Wreath
Christmas is supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year. But not this year; at least not for me.
Laid off from my job, left at the altar, and wanting to bury my head until the new year I head to a family friend’s cabin.
Blizzard Bluff was in my rearview as soon as I graduated high school, but now I'm heading back to lick my wounds.
The last person I expect to see is the boy who made my heart pound as a teenager. Only he's a man now, and he's going to be the one to turn my holiday around.

Left me wanting more!
Left me wanting more! Holly has worked tirelessly to make it on her own in the big city and get away from her small-town roots for years. Having a job and getting married, she thinks she has it all, until it all comes crashing down. We start this book with Holly getting broken up with at the altar, and then when she arrives home gets the double whammy of finding out she’s lost her job. Returning to her small-town with her tail between her legs to figure out what her next move is while licking her wounds, she is reminded of what she left in the form of her high school boyfriend Lucas. Lucas has been struggling with life since the passing of his father and everything he’s done to protect his family over the years, sacrificing his happiness. When he goes to winterize pipes for someone, he’s surprised that Holly is back in town, and after spending a little time with her, they’re both reminded of the past and he decides to shoot his shot of happiness that slipped through his fingers all those years ago. This was a cute story and I found myself wanting more and the book to be longer, but I can’t wait to see how this series goes!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Sweet and spicy holiday read
While shorter in length, this holiday novella had all the romance and drama of a longer novel. It’s not fun to be dumped at any time of year, but it’s especially heartbreaking for Holly at this time of the year. And to be heading back to her hometown, and the boy…now a man…she left behind. It’s a lot.
Thankfully, Lucas isn’t holding a grudge, even if he’s a bit gun shy to let Holly back into his heart. The Cabin at Candy Cane Lane was the perfect little bite of sweetness for my holiday reading.
