And then, on top of it all, she faces the possibility of losing her dragon to the sickness that has already claimed so many others. Thread
I know this is not the place to post this, but the question was asked, “What is thread?” I can understand the readers confusion if they did not grasp this concept. Thread is an airborne paradisiacal spore from a neighboring rouge planet. The spores fly off the rouge planet like a commentary trail, and when they enter the atmosphere of Pern they open up then infest anything they touch with devastating effects. (Short explanation) Pern novels appear to be fantasy, but in reality they are pure science fiction that on the surface looks like fantasy writing. The stories are epic in scope and depth, McCaffery’s writing style and attention to detail brings you into a world that is unlike anything you have ever known and at the same time has a very realist feel to it. Unlike some books it is necessary to read the preface or you can become lost and confused, but once you know what it what, you can easily become immersed in Anne McCaffery’s world of Pern and the characters who live there.
Wish it were Better
I am a huge fan of this series but this book fell short. The book was either to long or to short, I can't decide! It felt like I was reading a book and a half the first part was to long and the second part ended with no end (if that makes sense).
