Publisher Description

Friendship and duty collide in the fifteenth Sasha McCandless novel.

When Sasha discovered a pattern of police and prosecutorial misconduct in a nearby town, she stirred a hornet's nest. Three years later, tempers are rising and she's once again in the spotlight as the high-profile case hits the news.

Investigative reporter Maisy Farley is one of Sasha's long-time friends and closest confidantes. When she gets an anonymous tip about Sasha’s case, she’s obligated to see where it leads.

But as Sasha prepares for trial and Maisy digs deeper into her source's allegations, it’s clear someone is pulling the strings behind the scenes. The friends are on a collision course as they each work to uncover the truth, and the secrets they expose will have explosive consequences.

Entertaining, exciting and impossible to put down

I love a Melissa Miller novel and perhaps none more than a Sasha novel. “Independent Sources” certainly reinforces that love. The twists, turns and seat-of-your-pants, page turning reading was in full effect once again. I was so excited to read the continuation of Max, Sam and Charlie and after devouring the rest of the story, I am so glad it was written. In the strangest of twists a private donor offers a ridiculous amount of money for the three to settle. The Sasha “spidey senses” were tingling for all involved and reading the unfolding of the story was so incredibly entertaining. I especially enjoyed seeing Maisy walking alongside Sasha to break the case and the final wrap up made me want to stand up and cheer loudly! This is another fantastic novel. Entertaining, exciting, unpredictable and impossible to put down!
I was provided an advanced eARC of this book.
