About The Edgar Broughton Band
The Edgar Broughton band was more or less the British answer to Captain Beeheart. Formed in the late 1960s, the featured raw, unhinged vocals undeniably similar to those of the Captain, and a similarly angular, quirky combination of blues influences and (for the times) heavy guitars. They refined their sound as they went along, eventually developing a bit more of an art-rock approach, but they broke up in the mid-'70s. A few years later Edgar Broughton and his brother Steve started the similarly inclined The Broughtons.
