Pariah
Join us this week a Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum react to surprise after surprise after surprise in our rewatch of Smallville Season 4 Episode 12: PARIAH!. What could’ve gone on for the entirety of the episode, but was cut short, was Michael‘s fascination with the unconventionally absurd cold open and why it was wrong for so many different reasons. The guys go on to talk about Tom‘s cathartic performance after losing a loved one, how the sandman villain could have been renamed and improved, and the huge shock of Chloe Sullivan learning Clark’s secret.

Unsafe w/ SARAH CARTER!
By popular demand - we have Alicia Baker herself SARAH CARTER on this week to discuss her return to Smallville in Season 4 Episode 11: UNSAFE. Sarah shares stories on during her time working alongside Tom across Season 3 and 4, insights into their on screen chemistry, and why she thinks this relationship resonated with so many fans. We had a lot of fun this week, thanks to the addition of the new Patreon segment that we hope you folks are going to dig. During the recap we talked about excessive cup biting, Tom’s inability to ice skate, and how this relationship dynamic was so different for a young Clark Kent.
Go support Sarah! She made her filmmaking debut as a director, writer, producer with In Her Name which won a Tribeca Film Festival Audience Award now available for pre-order on AppleTV and set for wide release June 25th!

Scare
The town of Smallville has their greatest fears on full display this week at Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum revising Season 4 Episode 10: SCARE! Despite Tom prying for his favorite scene throughout the recording, the Ryan-tist is steadfast this week as all of us dissect the scariest episode of Smallville to date. Tom discusses the difficulties of directing an alternate reality episode, his favorite dynamic switches in the series, and his LOVE for the Lex doomsday scene… while Michael wonders why a microwave couldn’t save the day. Fun times this week - stay tuned for next episode, you won’t want to miss it.

Favorite Rewatch Podcast
Loved the show growing up and this podcast got me back into rewatching it. I tune in every week now just to hear Rosenbaums complaints on the episode and Toms amusement to the complaints
Day 1
I remember the promos for the show. My sister and I would record the episodes on vhs. Back then streaming didn’t exist and tv shows weren’t always accessible on dvd. We gave them our own names and I even drew art on them. Despite Lex s!?&@!? On the show it’s great to have Ryan a first time viewer and Tom finally join us fans on this journey we all took. I was homeschooled up until high school and Smallville was my icebreaker to prepare for what public school could be like. I could easily relate to Clark being an outcast except I had no special abilities and my father was more like Lionel than Jonathan. Smallville brought my family closer together and I own all 10 seasons in a proud display. I rewatched it many times sometimes at least once a year. Thank you for doing this I wish I could do more to be a part of it. I’m so glad I’m not alone in my fandom. Kryptonsite.com was my #1 website back in those days just saying.
Outstanding Podcast!
I just found this Podcast, and proceeded to binge-listen to 84 episodes in one week. It’s a great show. A lot of insights into the characters that I wish I had back when it originally aired. Frequent guests including creators Gough and Miller. Ryan and Bryce add a lot to the show with a fresh perspective.
And speaking of perspective, the benefit of hindsight has been personally very gratifying. It’s closed some old issues, validated others. For the most part, the show holds up really well with exceptional production value.
Highly Recommended for Smallville fans.
