What’s New

Version 1.4

Bug fixes:

- Fixed inability to click to open the Camera when mouse was at extreme top.
- Disabled green tip animation by default and added an option to toggle the green trigger animation. (the green animation was added as a safety measure to keep you aware that NotchCam is running to prevent things such as accidentally opening the camera while screen sharing)

Several reports of people facing issues with Macbook 14". I think most of them are fixed in this release but if you still face any please reach out to me directly by emailing tanmay@tanmay.me and I'll fix it with your help.

Please take a moment to leave a nice rating, it helps a lot.

Works Great! Just needs a small update

The app works great and I love the idea, however, For my 16' macbook pro the hitbox for the activation camera does is too big, making it impossible to close windows that are split in half since its being covered. Maybe this could be solved by creating a variable the user can change or a toggle mode for which device you're using?

Good, could be great

Needs the ability to hide dock icon and settings button that displays on notch hover and instead use a menubar icon with a settings and quitt menu options. Also, change the green pulse effect to match the accent color or highlight color for the appearance setting in the system preferences app.

Perfect solution.

This is perfect for quickly getting a peak as to what your camera looks like before hopping into a video conference. Only two things I'd like to see to get to 5 stars.
1) Add a toggle for the green wave animation. I don't need it to know my mouse is under the notch and It'd be nice to have a toggle in the settings to turn it off.
2) Fix the hitbox problem for 14" macbook pro. I saw in another review that the hitbox was slightly off for their 14". I feel if the pointer of the mouse is under the notch, it should trigger. If I were to guess, it feels as if there's a 10 pixel border in the notch area. So if you move your mouse to the top edge of the display and click, it won't work. You'll need to move your mouse down.

For $1, this app is definitely worth it and works well enough. The modifications above would make it the perfect addition for anyone that uses their camera.
