The Broken Skyline

Introducing The Broken Skyline, an Art book centered around the iconic and ironic skyline of New York City. It is inspired by the paintings I've made over the years and my concern for the ecological challenges and environmental issues facing our world.

It is friends with the Manhattan Bridge, Fast City Highways and The Chrysler Cat Building. It's born on a popular corner everyday. It experiences things only an inanimate object can experience and is like snippets into the everyday things that occur and happen to it and lets the reader see and feel them. Inanimate objects move, the buildings move, the parking meters talk, all the structures morph: the Manhattan Bridge becomes a Spider, The Chrysler Cat prowls through the city, The Empire Snake Building slithers, sheds its skin and becomes the Saxophone State Building later. The story unfolds as Garbage bag's love for The Flatiron Building blooms. The skyline is broken because of further events and stories. A few selected passages are written in Spanish and English.
