Three poignant stories of emotion, hope, and forever love—a duke and a Highland heiress, a prince and a pauper, and a woman of courage fighting life’s twists of fate. Love and laughter abound in this heartwarming collection of Regency tales from a beloved author of historical romance.
DEAREST MILLIE
Lady Millie’s future looks bright until fate deals her a tragic hand in the form of cancer. Dermot McKendry is a former surgeon in the Royal Navy who has returned to open a hospital in the Highlands. Providence brings them together, but life’s calamities will sorely test the healing power of the human heart.
HOW TO DITCH A DUKE
Lady Taylor Fleming is an heiress with a suitor on her tail. Her step-by-step plan to ditch him is simple. But there is nothing simple about Franz Aurech, Duke of Bamberg. Taylor tries to escape to sanctuary in the Highlands, but her plans become complicated when the duke arrives at her door and her loyal allies desert her. And even with the best laid plans, things can go awry…
A PRINCE IN THE PANTRY
A reversal of her family’s fortune has left Pearl Smith penniless and working as a seamstress for a former friend. Prince Timour Mirza is in England on a diplomatic mission to choose a wife, but he longs for one night of freedom. Trading his clothes and his position with a companion, he escapes the masquerade ball. When Pearl also flees the West End mansion, their paths cross. A future together is impossible, but beneath a full moon they find that love can come when it’s least expected.

Three wonderful novellas full of depth and swoons
I loved all three of these romances. The novellas are all set in the British Isles during the early 1800s. Despite being short, the stories were well written and included witty dialogue, characters with a lot of depth, and engaging storylines.
Dearest Millie
I really enjoyed Millie and Dermot’s love story. The two have been interacting with each other for months without ever meeting. On the day Millie receives devastating news she runs into Dermot without recognizing him. This chance encounter thrusts the journey to their HEA into high gear along with giving hope back to Millie. One of my favorite parts was the way a sensitive and emotional topic was handled in the story. It gave a good story an added depth.
How to Ditch a Duke
I loved Bamberg and Taylor’s story. Taylor is a smart and independent wealthy woman at a time when these characteristics are not prized. Bamberg is a Duke who enjoys exploring the world but feels it is time to find a wife. A chance encounter during a storm that involves lots of mud and a stuck carriage has Bamberg besotted and Taylor trying to avoid him at all costs. One of my favorite parts was that Taylor’s non-feminine characteristics were portrayed as an strength especially to Bamberg. It added depth to the story.
Prince in the Pantry
Reading Pearl and Timour’s story gave me all the feels. Pearl was being raised by a wealthy merchant father but his assets were seized and he was sent to debtors prison. She is working as a seamstress hoping to appeal to their former friends for aid. Timour is a Persian prince sent to England to find a wife. At a masquerade ball when Timour is acting as a servant rather than a prince, a chance encounter between them in the laundry room begins their swoony journey to their HEA. I loved that Pearl is portrayed as being less shallow than the typical wealthy English woman of the time and that is what appeals to Timour.
