26. Keeping it Real with the Senior Vice President of Fan Services and Ballpark Entertainment for the Boston Red Sox, Sarah McKenna Game of Her Own

    • Sports

“When you are the only one, whether that is because of your gender or your race there is a loneliness that comes from that and there is a lack of relatability and you don’t really think you can talk about how you are feeling” -Sarah McKenna (SVP of Fan Services & Entertainment, Red Sox)

One of my favorite things about my first boss in Sports is that she keeps it real. This episode is jam packed with empowering advice from Sarah. She started her career in sports in the minor leagues making $700/mo and takes us through her journey of becoming SVP. Sarah gives some incredible advice for all levels.

This six-time Emmy award winner is a storyteller, so buckle in as she shares stories that will make you laugh and some that will make you pause and reflect on your own journey.

Highlight Reel from our conversation:
-Advice for those who have lost their job
-How she handled her position being eliminated early in her career!!
-A unique approach to getting paid your value
-The value of managing up and knowing your boss
-How she handles it when people tell her something idea
