Touching must read
This is one of those books that will touch your heart it is so moving. The strength of Lailah as she tries to have a life while dealing with a life threatening problem is amazing. Jude just floored me as the lost man who finally comes to life when he meets Lailah. This is a story that you really need to read.
Tugs at your heart strings!
I loved this book! Such an amazing story of persistent optimism and all woven into an amazing love story. Jude is so easy to fall for and Laiylah's wisdom and outlook on life makes you truly feel as if you know her!
Unforgettable characters and swoon-worthy!
I was blessed to be able to read this before it's release and wow. Simply wow. Book hangover! From the opening lines of "Within these walls, he became my solace, my sanctuary, and my strength. Like a white knight, he saved me from a life of gray and showed me a world full of color." to the very last word I was hooked. Berg created two beautiful characters in Jude and Lailah. Jude the sexy but broken CNA-"We all have scars...Some are just more visible than others", and Lailah the patient with literally a broken heart, who "didn't swoop down from heaven to be treated like something ordinary." Together they find a way to heal their hearts and entwine their heartbeats into one beautiful life where everyday moments are appreciated, and slowly but assuredly her somedays become today. Now with any good relationship, it is tested. "Two broken hearts-we would destroy each other before we even had a chance to begin." Berg does a phenomenal job in her descriptions of emotions, both inner monologues and character dialogues.
Another great thing--there were not loose ends! I felt peace about the leads as well as sub-characters. A solid good read full of heart-warming moments. Perhaps being a mother, I loved the line "no story is ever too long for a mother to hear." And while there were moments I felt were on repeat, it was a great plot with unforgettable characters and plenty of swoon-worthy moments.
