About Tia Rungray

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My 'earliest' musical memories are of U2. I was born in the 90s, so my parents were familiar with rock music like theirs. You would find that to be far from my music. But especially with U2, I had the chance to be influenced by Brian Eno. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Kenji Kawai, 紅い眼鏡 Complete Revival Michael Nyman, The Piano Original Music From the Film Nils Frahm, Screws I think the hints of grandeur with delicate piano and noise sounds that characterise my music come from these three albums. They do not directly use noise sounds, but the musical exuberance inspired me. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Stone Wall Stone Fence” I love the first half of the song, which begins with a quiet, tense guitar, drums and vocal concerto. And the screaming march of the band sound in the second half is sympathetic to the form of music I'm aiming for. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? When I released my album MindgEsso in 2018, the most memorable moment of my career was when the respected composer Akira Senju said, ' I heard the air of the future in your music. I was very honoured because I also grew up listening to his music. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? The covid pandemic has forced me to limit my musical activities for health reasons. Still, I want you to hear my live performances in front of my fans in my ideal, an excellent music hall with the people I love.
