Essential Albums
- A true gem of Christian rock, The Pledge marries giant guitar riffs and arena-ready keyboards to bold and often feisty declarations of faith; really, how else can you describe a song like “Boycott Hell,” which marries Bon Jovi/Bruce Springsteen’s working-class rock to a bold rebuke to stand firm against the Evil One? “Aliens & Strangers” is an outsider’s anthem that gets its answer in “I’m Accepted,” while “The Pledge” hinges on a simple yet potent mantra: “He died for me/I’ll live for Him.”

About Degarmo & Key
Eddie De Garmo & Dana Key are Memphis-reared guitar rockers who started with the Globe band in early 1972. Later they gave it up to create the Christian rock group called the Christian Band, changing the name to DeGarmo & Key later in the decade. They were influenced by ZZ Top, Jimi Hendrix, ELP, and others. ~ Bil Carpenter
