Traceless

I love Meli and I love this series! It keeps drawing me back in, I *have* to read it. The cliffhanger was a huge shocker but I’m right on to the third!

This is book 2 in the Stateless series, I don’t think it’s intended nor can be read as a stand-alone. This is still one of the strangest book/series I think I’ve ever read.

This picks up where Stateless ended and continues the story of Callum and Kina. This gets more twisted and more confusing. It’s not clear who they can trust.

It did at times get really confusing trying to keep all the names/characters straight. Whether they are good or bad, Stateless or not. But it’s still not so confusing that I’m willing to give up on this series. On the contrary, I’m am ready to dive into the final book. (Oh, I’m so glad I started this series after all the books have been released, it would have been torture waiting.)

Callum and Kina continue to question everything they were taught.

When your born without a trace no one knows your a weapon.

Traceless begins where Stateless ends with Angelica pointing a gun at Kina.

Kina is still in charge of the nursery and Callum is still the leader. They know who they are and where they came from. Yet, they still don’t know why they were brought to the compound.

Overall:

More character introductions. This continues to follow the lives of Kina, Callum, and Glen. It’s challenging to keep up with all the new characters trying to ascertain who is good and who is bad.

This is written well, yet it’s confusing to decipher everything going on. Too much gets explained while not enough gets explained. The characters talk in circles sometimes explaining things with lies and truths.

Some of the activity taking place seemed insignificant when compared to the grandeur scope of the mission. When comparing the mission to that of the lives of those living in the compound it’s confusing trying to piece together each individual assignment.

At times I’m completely connected with these characters and other times I’m disconnected having no idea why the switch occurred. Certain situations draw more excitement than others.

I’m sooo confused, yet it’s exciting. I realize I’m in over my head with how big the lies are.

It’s like Bourne Identity meets Divergent. I’m digging it to a certain degree. I can handle small portions of information but when it’s on a grander scale my brain can’t process all the information.
