Margaret Reed Is A Force of Nature

Margaret Reed played Dr. Serova in the seventh season of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode, "Force of Nature," playing an alien scientist who believes warp travel is doing more harm than good. Today, this veteran performer and advocate takes a look at her career from where it began to the place it is now.
Margaret tells us about working on TNG, the makeup, a day where things went awry, and her take on this character whose outcome didn't need to be as tragic as it was. Plus, going from "the salad bowl of the world," Salinas, CA, to upstate NY for Cornell University, then back to California for Hollywood, tales of working with Jason Alexander in a short-lived sitcom and later on "Seinfeld," her time as Shannon O’Hara for eight years on the soap opera “As The World Turns,” Blossom’s mom in “Blossom,” and her most recent role in “The Equalizer” with Queen Latifah that Margaret says is what she’s proudest of in her entire career.

Lee Arenberg has worked in Hollywood for a long time, so of course he crossed paths with Star Trek eventually. This veteran appeared five times in four different series, including playing Ferengis in DS9 and TNG, a Malon in VOY, and a Tellarite ambassador in a two-parter on Enterprise.
Arenberg has loads of great stories to tell about his time on those Star Trek sets, as well as discussing some of his most famous roles beyond Trek, including his appearances on "Seinfeld," and his enduring role as Pintel in Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean" series.

The Life & Legacy of Leonard Nimoy

The Life & Legacy of Leonard Nimoy

In honor of the late Leonard Nimoy, Star Trek historian and Nimoy archivist Bonnie Moss visits Trek Untold to tell us about the man behind the pointy ears. We get the inside story of Nimoy's life beyond Star Trek, discussing his passion for photography and the arts, reading some of Nimoy's poetry (and how that reflected his worldview), his opinion on The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins, the feud between Nimoy and Shatner, what Nimoy thought of the longevity of Star Trek and Trekkies, and what his final days were like.
Bonnie is a lifelong Trekkie, and also tells us about the evolution of the fandom from its beginnings to where it is now in the internet age, why Star Trek was so important to her as a child, how a particular episode of the original series influenced her choice of profession, what happened to the original fandom when Star Trek was canceled after its third season, and more!

William Sadler: From Shawshank to Section 31

William Sadler: From Shawshank to Section 31

William Sadler is known to Star Trek fans for his time on Deep Space Nine as Luther Sloan, a member of a mysterious group within Starfleet called Section 31. Through three episodes, Sloan introduced viewers to this clandestine organization that left a huge mark on the franchise. But, the actor who played this character is just as impactful.
Sadler talks to us about growing up in Upstate New York and becoming an actor, what he learned at Cornell University, playing Julius Caesar in The Bard’s famous play on Broadway alongside Denzel Washington, and breaking down how to keep the works of Shakespeare fresh as an actor. From there, we deep dive into Sloan and Section 31, memories from playing the part, and what made this Machiavellian character so important to DS9 and Star Trek as a whole.
We also discuss some of his other notable works like his time as Heywood in “The Shawshank Redemption,” Colonel Stuart in “Die Hard 2” and his infamous nude scene, and playing The Grim Reaper in “Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.”

1 of the best Trek and behind the scenes podcast.

One of the best podcast to know more about someone’s career beyond just Star Trek. One of the better Star Trek Podcast and behind the scenes podcast for interviews. I like that the sponsors for the show are very much on point with the themes of the show. I enjoy how informative the show is.
