Pianos Become the Teeth

Blending heavy elements of screamo with a more melodic post-rock sensibility, Pianos Become the Teeth helped establish the post-hardcore wave of the 2010s alongside contemporaries like Touché Amoré, La Dispute, and Defeater. Emerging in 2006, the band found mainstream success in 2010 with the release of their Top Shelf Records debut, Old Pride. They adopted a less aggressive, more melodic post-rock sound after moving to Epitaph in 2014, a tonal sea change that they carried forward on subsequent efforts like 2018's Wait for Love and 2022's Drift.
