Laila and Trees
Laila has been at the mercy of the ruthless cartel for years. When she finally escapes, she thinks things will be better but the safe house she and her sister are using is discovered. Trees, from EM security, takes on the role of bodyguard for Laila. But she trusts no man. Trees is very attracted to her and is determined to protect her. As they run from danger, Laila begins to see a different type of man than she is used to and Tress is determined to keep her safe. But the cartel isn’t giving up, Laila refuses to believe any man can be depended on and Trees is also having trouble with a suspected mole at EM security. Non-stop adventure, tons of heat and excellent character development. Laila’s past does make her take some foolish risks and Trees is pushed to his limits to try and protect her. Lots of tension and danger and tons of heat!
Captivating story
Captivating characters and an equally captivating storyline made this a book which I enjoyed reading. It was a very memorable read as well. The scenes were sizzling with chemistry. I loved it.

On the edge of your seat good!
OMGEE!!! This book had me sitting on the edge of my seat the whole way through, I love how strong Laila is and how Trees protects yet adores her. This book has you guessing with so many twist and turns and again, it is amazing how Shayla Black is able to make us love characters and yet who how human they are and make us angry at them. I cannot wait for the second half of this couple!
