Description
MIT App Inventor is an educational tool to learn computational thinking and computational action principles through building mobile apps. Used by over one million people worldwide every year, it is one of the premier platforms for computer science education. Use this companion app to test drive projects, debug blocks code, and show your friends and family your creations. Using a blocks based programming language, design and code your own projects, or use one of the many books and curricula to learn about coding. App Inventor also includes built-in tutorials for running student workshops.
This version of App Inventor includes over 60 components, from user interface elements such as buttons and switches, to sensors, connectivity and multimedia components so your projects can interact with the world.

Ratings and Reviews
See AllWorks, but also doesn’t…
This app would be good, except half of the time I can’t make an app since it crashes so much. It is also so laggy that when you try to tap something or fling something like a ball sprite, it takes minutes to register. Would be better if it wasn’t so buggy.
Do NOT Recommend
This app has ruined my life. Shortly after downloading this app, my 5 year old sister got raped after being caught in a gang fight. She had to go and get her hole stitched back up. I was also diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer and pneumonia with 13 days left to live. My 3 year old son was playing in the park and then got molested by a 73 year old man and he came home crying. My wife of 11 years left me and turned lesbian for Gorlock the Destroyer. I was also fired from my job of 6 years for “being weird”. I HATE this app and I’m going to overdose on gang drugs. Goodbye.
It works!
I didn’t think I’d ever see something like this on iOS. Sure, for now you can only run the app while connected to your computer, with the app open on the website, but wow! I was able to get the Kitty app working in a few minutes. I’m going to play with the accelerometer and maybe controlling a Raspberry Pi. It will be great if they get the compiler working.
