    Today’s podcast is all about RJ Stewart. He is the author of his recently released post-apocalyptic thriller, Crazy Hawk, but he is best known for developing, writing and producing Xena: Warrior Princess (starring Lucy Lawless), once the highest-rated television show in syndication. RJ started out as a teamster for nine years and a fledgling stage actor, until he got his first break, writing for the NBC romance, detective drama starring Pierce Brosnan, Remington Steele. It would parlay into a 22-year Hollywood career that includes writing credits for movies The Rundown, starring Duane “The Rock” Johnson, Major League 2, starring Charlie Sheen, and television’s Cleopatra 2525. He also worked on projects with Kevin Costner, Rebecca De Mornay and James Garner. Stewart was born in Brooklyn, New York, but has lived most of his life in the American West. His youth as the son of an Air Force sergeant was spent across six states and Greece, Italy, and Germany. These days he lives on a San Diego County horse ranch with his wife of 51 years, Kat O’Connor. Various horses and dogs have been kind enough to share their ranch with R.J. and Kat, including Danny, a beautiful palomino who inspired the creation of the buckskin character in Crazy Hawk, his first novel.     Today’s podcast is all about Alretha Thomas. She unfortunately suffered childhood trauma, including physical abuse from a stepfather, molestation from a family associate, and the suffering of second-degree burns at age three at the hands of a neighbor. At age 14 she found her 36-year-old mother dead at their home. Thomas has lived with resilience and faith to handle what comes her way. Alretha Thomas is a former model and a SAG/AFTRA actress who has appeared in numerous films, television series, and commercials. She also appeared on two iconic soap operas, Days of Our Lives and General Hospital. She currently is a series regular on Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living, a television program on BET that’s in its fifth year. As a playwright, Civil Rites won an NAACP Theatre Award. A Shrine to Junior was nominated for the same award. She also wrote and produced Mommie and Clyde, a play that received an NAACP Theatre Award nomination both for Best Ensemble Cast, and Best Director. She was awarded the Jessie Redman Fauset Literary Award for her Indie Novel, Four Ladies Only. Thomas has penned 15 novels, over a half-million of which have been sold and downloaded. Ever since her first novel was launched in 2008, Daughter Denied, her works have received glowing reviews from readers, book clubs, and reviewers.     Today’s podcast is all about Aaron Burrows. He spent his formative years in Houston, Texas where in 2009 he graduated from The College of Biblical Studies. At nearly 400 pounds and unhappy with his health and appearance, he turned to running and lost almost 100 pounds his first year and 75 pounds over the next 4 years. While preparing to run a 50-mile ultramarathon in November 2015, Aaron was the victim of a workplace shooting. Aaron fought to stay alive after being shot 5 times while saving his coworkers’ lives. Debilitating PTSD would stalk him forever. What was he to do? How could he avoid a minimal life? He returned to running in 2019 following grueling physical and emotional therapy and has completed several marathons, and raised tens of thousands of dollars for charities since.
