Wrong Turn

Wrong Turn by Samantha Chase was such a fun and delightful read. Chelsea Cooper and Drew Russo share a group of friends that meets regularly, but do not always see eye to eye. They tend to push each other’s button every chance they get. When Chelsea’s best friend sets off to get married, she is determined to stop the wedding as she is not a fan of the groom to be. Drew, the groom’s best friend, is determined to stop her.

This is how they end up on a road trip together. But neither expected to discover so much more about the other with every wrong turn. I loved watching them get to know each other. Somehow on the way to their destination, they went from taking shots at each other to laughs, witty banter and eventually more. Wrong Turn by Samantha Chase was a witty, light and charming read.

What happens when you hate your best friend’s boyfriend’s best friend? It’s not pretty! Chelsea and Drew are thrown together because their best friends are a couple. A horrible, immature, self-absorbed couple, to be blunt. It says a lot, both good and bad, that Drew and Chelsea are still friends with Jimmy and Chelsea. And those friendships reflect how they each see the other. All it takes to view each other in a different light is a road trip to stop Bianca and Jimmy’s wedding. Or, in Drew’s case, stall Chelsea from getting to the resort on time! The banter between our leads is everything! Funny and filled with both innuendo and good natured digs, their chemistry shines through with first their words, then their actions. While the obvious theme of Wrong Turn is about Chelsea and Drew’s changes in attitude towards each other, it also is about their individual growth. As a reader, it made me think about the relationships in my life, and how far I’d go for a friend...or when it’s time to let go of a friendship that is toxic. Samantha Chase has another hit on her hands with this humorous but definitely thought-provoking read!

Okay I totally adored this super fun story in this quirky new series. It’s sweet and funny with some serious thrown in there to give it just the right balance. I love Drew and Chelsea, both are such wonderful characters! I was cheering them on from the get-go even as they were arguing about everything lol. Enemies to lovers is always an interesting time since they are both passion driven and of course there is that fine line. I love when the couple eventually realizes they have something special and crosses over that line.
Drew and Chelsea’s road trip enables them to finally get to know each other after a year of being in the same friend group and basically driven by other people’s feelings. They bond as they ride together and finally get to know each other and soon realize the quest they are on is a likeminded one after all. Then chemistry takes over and they discover they not only like but are very attracted to each other and ultimately some deep feelings grow. There are so many things I love about this book but one of my favorite things is the book Chelsea reads to Drew in the car. Very cool Samantha Chase!! That brought such a smile to my face.
I really enjoyed their road trip complete with wrong turns that eventually lead them to a very satisfying HEA. I look forward to the next book!
